Position: Senior Oracle Cloud ERP Financial Systems Specialist
Job Type: Permanent / Direct-Hire

Position Summary:

The Senior Oracle Cloud ERP Financial Systems Specialist is a key member of the Finance Systems and Reporting department and plays a critical role in implementing, optimizing, and managing Senior Oracle Cloud ERP Financial Systems Specialist on a day-to-day basis. Reporting to the Director of Finance Systems and Reporting, this hybrid role involves hands-on technical management of Oracle Cloud financial modules, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and budgeting functionality. You will collaborate closely with finance stakeholders, system administrators, and technology partners to ensure efficient operation, system stability, and alignment with business processes. This role requires both strong technical expertise and the ability to partner effectively across departments to support the university's financial operations.

Essential Functions of the Senior Oracle Cloud ERP Financial Systems Specialist:

  • Provide technical expertise and day-to-day support for Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules.
  • Document system configurations, customizations, and processes to ensure knowledge continuity and support system maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with Oracle support, Oracle consultants, and internal IT teams.
  • Participate in system optimization initiatives, including configuration reviews, data quality assessments, and process improvements.
  • Support implementation projects, system upgrades, and enhancements to Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules.
  • Serve as a technical resource to finance teams on Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities and best practices.
  • Conduct user training and support on system functionality, process changes, and new features.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses and reporting support to finance leadership as needed.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and controls; recommend improvements in alignment with university policies and financial best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance Systems and Reporting, the Controller's office, Rice Office of Technology Systems & Services, and external partners on financial system initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements of the Senior Oracle Cloud ERP Financial Systems Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on a year-for-year basis, may be substituted.
