Job description

A remote opportunity is available for a California-licensed attorney to handle medical malpractice and civil litigation defense matters. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. while maintaining responsibility for California-based cases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload from inception through trial preparation
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Propound and respond to discovery
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda
  • Assist in case strategy and execution
  • Participate in client meetings and court appearances
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and team members

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active and in-good-standing California bar license
  • Minimum 2+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Medical malpractice experience preferred
  • Strong legal writing skills required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Work Environment

  • Fully remote with optional access to a Santa Monica office
  • Must be able to appear in California courts when required
  • No formal billable requirement; typical range 150–200 hours/month
