Position Summary

Are you a technically curious engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working cross-functionally, and owning projects from concept to completion?

Join STERIS as a VHP Application Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in delivering advanced sterilization solutions that support pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory research, and food & beverage safety.

In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a technical expert in Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) applications, partnering with Customers and internal teams to design, integrate, and implement solutions that drive business growth and Customer success.

What You'll Do as a VHP Application Engineer

Lead Technical Solutions & Project Execution

  • Design and support integration of VHP systems across applications such as isolators, filling lines, cleanrooms, HVAC systems, and pass-through chambers
  • Own project lifecycle activities-from pre-order support through execution, cycle development, and final delivery
  • Perform and/or lead VHP cycle development, including planning, execution, and documentation
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations to support Customer decision-making and sales growth

Partner with Sales & Influence Growth

  • Act as the technical lead on Customer projects, supporting solution development and integration strategy
  • Develop specifications, system configurations, and special sales quotes (SSQs)
  • Support pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity development alongside account managers
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and end users to influence specifications and position STERIS solutions early in projects

Drive Industry Impact & Thought Leadership

  • Build strong relationships through Customer engagement, trade shows, and professional organizations
  • Lead Customer trainings, webinars, and seminars to educate and promote best practices
  • Identify new applications, partners, and opportunities to expand VHP solutions
  • Provide voice-of-Customer feedback to influence product innovation and continuous improvement
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 1-2 years proven industry experience in working with VHP applications in Life Sciences Industry or 3+ years technical application engineering experience with capital equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and system integration
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with Customer-facing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD/visualization tools (e.g., Voloview) are a plus

Skills and Experience Highly Preferred:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or aseptic manufacturing environments
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects to successful completion
  • Confidence presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
Additional Details
  • Travel: Approximately 20-50% (primarily domestic)
  • Work environment: Combination of Customer sites, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, and remote work
  • Role may involve exposure to hydrogen peroxide in controlled environments

Pay range for this opportunity is$92,650.00-$119,900.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
