McNees, Wallace & Nurick is actively seeking a Director of Technology Operations to join our Information Technology department. At McNees, we believe our people are our greatest asset. This position would lead the day-to-day delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement of technology services that support attorneys and professional staff across multiple offices. Reporting directly to the CIO, this leadership role oversees technology training, service desk operations, and cloud and infrastructure services while helping shape the future of technology through innovation, automation, and scalable operational strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams across technology training, service desk, and cloud & infrastructure operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with the CIO to establish operational priorities, budgets, and technology roadmaps aligned with firm objectives.
  • Oversee the successful delivery and adoption of new technology initiatives and organizational change management efforts.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service level performance.
  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and SLAs across technology operations.
  • Lead workforce planning, hiring, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between IT and business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions support evolving organizational needs.
  • Drive automation and AI-enabled operational improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce resolution times.
  • Ensure effective technology onboarding, user training, and ongoing educational programs that maximize technology adoption and proficiency.
  • Oversee the delivery of responsive, high-quality end-user support and continuous improvement of the IT service management program.
  • Guide cloud infrastructure strategy, network operations, security, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, endpoint management, and compliance initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management, and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering an exceptional user experience.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking, virtualization, endpoint management, and information security best practices.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, network technologies, conference systems, and security foundations.
  • Proven success managing SLAs, KPIs, operational budgets, and technology service delivery.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL v4 Foundation, PMP, Microsoft Azure certifications, Security+, or CISSP are preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred, including familiarity with legal technology platforms.
  • Ability to support critical incidents outside normal business hours and travel occasionally to regional offices as needed.
