Psychotherapy Family Crisis Intervention, Inc. is seeking a committed and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team full-time. As a pivotal member of our team, you will use your expertise to provide trauma-informed care, delivering essential therapeutic support to individuals navigating the complexities of mental health challenges. Your role will encompass both individual and group sessions, empowering clients on their journey toward recovery and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments, exploring clients' trauma histories to inform tailored treatment strategies.
  • Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery and resilience building.
  • Employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, promoting trauma processing and the development of effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborating with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure holistic care for our patients.
  • Providing immediate crisis intervention in situations of acute trauma or emotional distress.
  • Educating clients and their families about trauma responses, offering practical tools and resources for ongoing support.
  • Maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance with ethical and legal regulations.
  • Participating in team meetings and case consultations focused on continual professional development and best practices in trauma therapy.
  • Staying current with advancements in research and methodologies relevant to trauma-informed care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve providing support to adults and adolescents grappling with the aftermath of trauma. Many of our clients experience challenges related to PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, and emotional regulation that stem from traumatic experiences. We emphasize a strengths-based approach, fostering a safe space for clients to explore their healing journeys while equipping them with necessary skills for sustainable recovery.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • An active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, emphasizing direct clinical practice in mental health.
  • Extensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and proven expertise in trauma-informed therapeutic practices.
  • An ability to demonstrate empathy, resilience, and interpersonal skills essential for effective client interactions.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience delivering trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient documentation and patient management.
  • A collaborative approach, showing readiness to integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation and Benefits
