Position Overview

Thrive Mental and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic team. This full-time role primarily focuses on providing individualized counseling services to clients within a supportive and remote outpatient setting. By employing various evidence-based therapeutic techniques, the Licensed Professional Counselor will play a critical role in enhancing the emotional wellbeing and mental health of our diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of clients to develop tailored therapy strategies that suit individual needs.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to diverse groups including families, couples, and individuals in a warm, supportive environment.
  • Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy; adapting approaches as necessary based on client progress.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care and comprehensive support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops and training sessions that keep you abreast of the latest in mental health research and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base is diverse, serving individuals with a range of mental health needs, including those navigating substance use recovery, trauma, and family dynamics. The counselor will have the opportunity to work with clients from multiple backgrounds, fostering an inclusive space for healing and growth.

Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is essential.
  • Must possess active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
  • Minimum of two years of professional counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards pertinent to clinical counseling and therapeutic practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and related technological tools.
Preferred Experience
  • Expertise in family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse counseling, or trauma-informed care is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience participating in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based practices and a commitment to utilizing research to guide therapeutic approaches.
