What You'll Do:
As a Senior Simulation Test Engineer, you will contribute to the development and execution of scenario-based validation strategies, leveraging simulation to evaluate system performance, identify gaps, and improve overall robustness. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across autonomy, systems, and safety to ensure that simulation insights translate into meaningful improvements in the real-world behavior of our vehicles.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of simulation-based test campaigns for autonomous vehicle V&V efforts
  • Collaborate with Product, Systems, and Safety teams to support simulation-driven validation strategies
  • Develop, maintain, and expand Torc's Scenario Library, including Abstract, Logical, and Concrete scenarios to improve ODD coverage

  • Experience with simulation and virtual testing of perception and/or autonomous driving systems
  • Experience developing scenarios aligned with OpenSCENARIO standards, including Abstract and/or Logical scenarios
  • Experience developing test cases and test procedures for complex systems
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and YAML, including data analysis and automation workflows
  • Strong experience with system-level debugging, fault isolation, and analysis
  • Proficiency working in a Linux environment
  • Working knowledge of probability and linear algebra
  • Ability to communicate test results clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches to autonomous vehicle validation

Bonus Points
  • Experience in automotive or safety-critical system validation
  • Experience developing or validating sensor models, traffic models, or vehicle dynamics models
