Job description

Position Summary
The MAG Aerospace Engineering Team is seeking professionals to support the USSOCOM Enterprise Network who are responsible for the overall architecture, operations, and maintenance of various technologies, transmission, and termination of digital communication across the globe.
The Computer Systems Analyst (Network Systems Administrator) is responsible for performing installation, configuration, administration, and monitoring of IT automation equipment, including baseline imaging, performance optimization, patching, and updating.
  • Up to 50% remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with the integration of military communications systems into the SOF operational architecture
  • Provides research, analysis, and design recommendations on tools and services that enhance the implementation and sustainment of SOF communication systems
  • Identifies solutions for SOF communications operations support in austere operating environments
  • Provides support to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve communications hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective or end-of-life components when necessary
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools to diagnose and identify complex problems and factors affecting SOF communications system performance
  • Provides support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems
  • Maintains file servers, network access, documents, analyzes and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
  • Coordinates with software systems engineering or applications developers as necessary to correct errors.
  • Maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.
  • Installs operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
  • Configures, optimizes, and monitors operating system software and hardware.
  • Performs system backups and recovery.

Requirements
Experience
  • Experience conducting the systematic translation of product requirements into total systems solutions that adhere to technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Engineering or technical experience working with military or SOF communications systems
  • Ability to perform requirements analysis and verify the validity, traceability, and testability of existing requirements
  • Experience performing functional analysis
  • Experience conducting trade studies and analyses for product selection
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with test teams to facilitate systems integration, verification, and test
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to solve complex problems and learn new skills and technologies

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

Clearance Requirements
  • Must have an active U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Desired Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of the application of Systems Engineering principles
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and procedures
  • Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environments
  • Familiarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methods
  • Hold industry recognized certifications such as MCSE/MCA/VMware or some subset of those certifications.
