Key responsibilities include: Reviewing, developing, and coordinating training programs aligned with both local and nationally adopted standards. Designing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training curricula to meet the needs of the fire service, the public, and industry stakeholders. Substitution: Additional fire prevention or suppression experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Special Note: Certification as a fire service instructor is desirable

Two of your most recent performance evaluations. SPECIAL NOTE: Current Fire Emergency Service Instructor 1 (FESI 1) is desirable or within 6 months of hire date. The Bureau has access to department fleet vehicles that may not be available for staff use when needed.

Mileage reimbursement is available when a personal vehicle is used for work-related matters. Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the state. TRAVEL This position requires air travel and will be conducted under AS 18.70.020 and AS 18.70.340

BACKGROUND CHECK This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, and required access to APSIN, an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
