Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients utilizing standardized tools and clinical interviews to evaluate the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, taking into account their unique goals, preferences, and therapeutic needs.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to deliver effective and impactful interventions.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, emphasizing treatment options, self-care strategies, and coping mechanisms.
- Monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, regularly reassessing and updating treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Engage in collaborative care with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to enhance the overall treatment experience for clients.
- Stay current with ongoing research and professional guidelines pertaining to mood disorders, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
- Maintain meticulous records of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans, adhering to legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions to further develop clinical skills and contribute to the practice's collective knowledge base.
- Act as an advocate for clients, promoting awareness and reducing stigma associated with mental health challenges.
This position primarily focuses on assisting individuals experiencing a range of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will work with a diverse clientele, tailoring your approach to accommodate their unique cultural backgrounds, experiences, and treatment preferences.
Qualifications- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid and current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with evidence-based treatment modalities, especially CBT and DBT.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology to effectively collaborate with psychiatrists on medication-related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve positive clinical outcomes in various treatment scenarios.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in a telehealth or remote counseling environment, utilizing technology to deliver care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and digital therapy tools.
- Previous involvement in advocacy or community education initiatives related to mental health.
