Overview
Stellar Virtual seeks a passionate and certified Elementary Teacher to join our team. This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction to students in grades K-5 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of elementary education best practices, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for creating a positive and interactive online learning environment. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success.
Essential Duties

  • Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Iowa Academic Standards for Elementary Education (K-5)
  • Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to provide effective co-teaching strategies and ensure accessibility of the general education curriculum.
  • Implement the Stellar Virtual elementary curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Develop and administer age-appropriate formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction.
  • Analyze student data to identify learning strengths and areas for growth, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the elementary curriculum and resources.
  • Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).
  • Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs.
  • Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and elementary educational technology tools.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
  • Passion for working with young learners and fostering their academic and social-emotional development.
  • Residency in the state of Iowa is required.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • A valid Iowa teaching license with an endorsement in Elementary Education (K-6) or equivalent.
  • Possession or willingness to gain PK-12 Talented & Gifted Endorsement.
