The Role:

Your Mission: The Revenue Cycle Trainer works as an integral part of the Revenue Cycle team. Responsible for training all new Revenue Cycle staff, this role assists the manager in developing, implementing, instructing, and evaluating education and training programs related to revenue cycle. This position collaborates with all departments to ensure training needs are met and provides feedback to the manager on the development of revenue cycle quality metrics and quality review processes. The individual will foster a culture of patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and service excellence through the planning, development, and implementation of key training programs and initiatives.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:
  • Lead all activities related to training, curriculum design and development, training media/formats, testing and proficiency standards, creative delivery strategies, and reporting in conjunction with the Training and Quality Manager.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to identify key training opportunities; leverage data from quality monitoring, calibration calls, and observations to address training gaps and develop strategic learning curriculum.
  • Track progress of training programs and continuously adapt content and cadence as needed in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
  • Ensure effective education on content knowledge, operational workflows, quality metric expectations, and customer service for both newly onboarded and existing team members.
  • Apply relevant learning theories and appropriate channels (online, instructorled, resource guides, job aids) in the design, development, and delivery of educational material.
  • Conduct needs assessments, identify gaps in curriculums, and create/execute strategies to support business functions.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Who You Are & What You’ll Bring:
  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of revenue cycle experience required or associate’s degree with 5 years of revenue cycle experience.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle: patient access, insurance billing, payer reimbursement, cash posting, collections, denials, guarantor collections
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient understanding of medical coding systems (ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, APG, APC, revenue code structures). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with instructional design and technologies; learnerfocused with ability to develop targeted materials
  • Ability to guide, direct, train, and interact with staff and outside contacts.
  • Strong collaboration and independent work skills.
  • Initiative to identify barriers and provide solutions through process improvements.
