Our primary focus is delivering high-quality, accessible mental health services via telehealth, aiming to enhance the emotional well-being of our diverse community. As a part of a Level III Trauma Center, we emphasize comprehensive treatment methods that are responsive to the needs of our patients, striving to promote overall health and recovery.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from home while being an integral part of a supportive virtual team. With a structured work schedule from Monday through Friday, you can expect to engage in approximately 36 hours of work weekly, although we are open to candidates seeking 32 hours. There are no on-call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on patient care without the stress of after-hours demands. You will utilize electronic medical records (EMR) software, specifically EPIC, to document patient interactions and treatment plans efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health as it relates to their weight management journey, focusing on emotional, psychological, and behavioral elements.
  • Utilize standardized assessment tools to identify mental health challenges and recommend appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver individual counseling sessions tailored to address the unique emotional and psychological factors contributing to obesity and binge eating.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that align with patients' goals and specific psychological needs.
  • Educate patients on vital psychological aspects of weight management, such as coping strategies, self-esteem, and the importance of body image.
  • Engage patients in exploring and understanding their emotional triggers that may lead to unhealthy eating behaviors.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices to support sustainable behavioral change.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting a sense of community and shared learning among patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including physicians, nutritionists, and physical therapists—to develop holistic care strategies that address both mental and physical health.
  • Regularly monitor and document patient progress towards their mental health and weight management objectives, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on their evolving needs.
  • Stay informed on the latest research, trends, and best practices in mental health and weight management, and actively participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain strict ethical standards in patient care, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary clientele will consist of individuals grappling with weight-related mental health issues, particularly focused on obesity and binge eating. By working with diverse populations, you will address their unique concerns, understanding the intricate relationship between mental health and weight management.

Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in mental health counseling or a similar field is required.
  • An unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license to practice in the state of Washington.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction.
  • The ability to occasionally lift and move up to 15 lbs may be necessary.
  • Specific vision capabilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception are required for effective patient assessment and documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
