Job description

Staff Product Manager

Virtualitics Iris and Forward Deployed Applications

Remote (DC area preferred)   \u007C  Active Security Clearance or Security Clearance Eligibility \u007C  HQ: Pasadena, CA

Virtualitics builds AI-native readiness intelligence for the US and allied nations’ defense sector. Virtualitics Iris transforms how defense organizations act on personnel, maintenance, logistics, and global force management data. Our team is actively refining agentic workflows, composable AI agents, and generative interfaces to replace static dashboards with dynamic, conversational intelligence.

The Role

You will work closely with cross-functional peers to drive product direction while ensuring day-to-day operational efficiency from the product development team. You will work with the engineering and AI team to make architecture decisions, scope sprints, run demos, and pressure-test trade-offs in real time. The product serves two audiences: DoW operators and delivery teams (data scientists, engineers, partner integrators) who configure and maintain deployments of Virtualitics’ product offering.

Responsibilities

  • Own your product deployments end-to-end: defining strategic vision, requirements, backlog, sprint planning, scope decisions, releases, and outcomes.

  • Drive technical decisions with engineering: architecture, feasibility, trade-offs, maintaining strong company-wide standards. Challenge estimates that don't add up.

  • Bridge users and engineers: translate operational readiness problems into product requirements through direct user research. You’ll be hands on with real users.

  • Shape platform evolution: R&D work across data ontology management, agent orchestration (MCP/A2A), generative interfaces. Collaborate with other senior technical staff to define the vision.

  • Support delivery operations: ensure the product reduces manual effort across contract types and deployment models.

  • Communicate clearly: executive briefings, demos, PRDs, strategic docs, cross-functional alignment. You are the connective tissue. As a Staff PM, you should also be mentoring other product team members.

Qualifications

  • US Citizen with active Secret (or above) DoW Clearance (or ability to obtain quickly)

  • CS degree (or equivalent technical degree) or 1-2 years of software engineering experience

  • 6+ years of product management or software engineering experience shipping software in agile environments

  • Comfortable reading code, reviewing architecture, and holding your own in technical discussions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred:

  • Experience with AI/ML products, defense/government tech, or classified environments (SIPR/NIPR)

  • Startup experience, especially navigating the scalability and automation phase

  • Platform product experience: technical interfaces (APIs, SDKs) alongside standard web applications

Compensation

  • Competitive salary, equity, and performance bonus

  • Medical, dental, vision. Unlimited PTO.

  • Growth path to Principal Product Manager or Management Track
