What is a remote NOAA contractor?

A Remote NOAA Contractor is a professional hired by a contracting company to work on projects for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), typically from a location outside of NOAA offices. These contractors may provide expertise in areas such as data analysis, environmental science, IT, or program management. While they support NOAA’s mission, they are not federal employees and typically work under the terms defined by their contracting organization. Remote NOAA Contractors benefit from flexible work locations, but must still adhere to NOAA’s guidelines and security protocols.
