What you’ll do:


Sourcing & candidate pipeline

  • Source, identify, and attract qualified critical care clinicians (ICU RNs, ER RNs, CCRN, PICU, NICU, Step-Down, and other acute care specialties) through job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of active and passive critical care candidates to meet ongoing and anticipated demand.
  • Leverage ShiftMed’s platform and technology tools to engage candidates efficiently at scale.
  • Attend local hiring events as required.


Candidate engagement & relationship management

  • Conduct thorough phone and video screens to assess clinical qualifications, availability, and placement fit.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with critical care professionals, serving as their primary point of contact throughout the placement process and beyond.
  • Guide candidates through the credentialing, onboarding, and compliance requirements necessary to work on the ShiftMed platform.
  • Maintain consistent touchpoints with placed clinicians to support retention and drive repeat placements.
  • Attend Monday orientations at facility to ensure a smooth orientation and to ensure candidates stay on track to complete remaining onboarding documentation.


Placement & partner collaboration

  • Partner closely with facility account managers and client partners to understand open needs, unit requirements, and urgency levels.
  • Match and submit qualified candidates to open critical care needs quickly and accurately, ensuring quality and compliance at every step.
  • Coordinate scheduling, shift confirmations, and last-minute fill needs with a sense of urgency.


Performance & reporting

  • Meet and exceed individual recruiting KPIs including submittals, placements, time-to-fill, and clinician retention metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the ATS and ShiftMed’s internal systems.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline activity and market trends to TA leadership.


What you bring

  • 2+ years of healthcare recruiting experience, with a strong preference for critical care, acute care, or travel nurse recruiting.
  • Solid understanding of critical care specialties, clinical certifications (CCRN, BLS, ACLS, etc.), and hospital unit requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume requisition load with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — you’re someone clinicians trust and want to work with again.
  • Experience with ATS platforms and digital sourcing tools; comfort with technology in a remote work environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare credentialing and onboarding requirements is a strong plus.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment.
