Compensation: $45.00 - $55.00 / hour
Description
Location: Remote

Duration: Initial 90-120 day engagement with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs.
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of a major new product initiative from planning through launch.
This role will serve as the operational leader for the project, coordinating work across Product, Engineering, Design, Curriculum, Assessment, AI, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to ensure the product is delivered successfully.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates exceptionally well, takes ownership of outcomes, and enjoys solving problems before they become roadblocks. Beyond managing timelines, this person will develop a deep understanding of the product, customers, and business objectives, making them a trusted partner throughout the development process.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building new products and is interested in expanding their responsibilities over time as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of a large cross-functional product initiative.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependency tracking.
  • Coordinate activities across Product, Engineering, Design, Curriculum, AI, Assessment, and Customer Success teams.
  • Ensure work stays aligned with project objectives, priorities, and delivery commitments.
  • Facilitate project meetings, planning sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Maintain clear communication across teams and leadership.
  • Document decisions, action items, risks, and project changes.
  • Build strong working relationships that keep teams aligned and moving forward.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies early.
  • Drive issues to resolution by coordinating the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor project health and proactively recommend adjustments when priorities shift.
  • Keep leadership informed through concise project status updates and reporting.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the product, customer needs, and business goals.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to understand priorities and roadmap decisions.
  • Support backlog organization, release planning, sprint planning, and product documentation.
  • Become a trusted operational partner throughout the product development lifecycle.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 4+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • Experience working with software development teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership mindset.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Experience in EdTech, SaaS, or digital product development.
  • Experience delivering new software products from concept through launch.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional technology, AI-enabled products, or educational assessment.
  • Exposure to Product Management or Product Development practices.

Within your first 90 days, you will:
  • Build a strong understanding of the product, customers, and delivery roadmap.
  • Become the central point of coordination across cross-functional teams.
  • Improve visibility into project progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Help drive the successful delivery of major product milestones.
  • Earn the trust of Product, Engineering, Curriculum, and Executive Leadership through consistent execution and ownership.

You naturally create order from complexity.
You ask thoughtful questions, anticipate problems before they occur, and follow through until work is complete.
You enjoy collaborating across disciplines, building relationships, and helping teams deliver meaningful products that improve outcomes for students and educators.
You are equally comfortable discussing timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and learning the details of the product you're helping bring to market.
You create confidence through proactive communication, maintaining clear visibility into project progress, milestone completion, risks, and overall project health for stakeholders across the organization.
