Neurosurgeon
Job Duties: Treat neurological problems with surgeries and medications. Perform full array of neurosurgical procedures, including neuro-oncology surgeries. Examine patient clinical history, choose, order and perform appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret results. Consult with physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care and transmission risks, prophylaxis and precautions. Refer cases to specialists as indicated, maintaining continuity of care. Provide medical direction to healthcare staff and assist in developing and implementing education, training and in-service programs for the healthcare staff. Various administrative duties and participate in committees. Maintain patient records according to hospital policies and procedures. Remain a member of the active staff of hospitals. Provide call coverage.
