Remote Neuroimaging Data Analyst information

What is a remote neuroimaging data analyst?

A Remote Neuroimaging Data Analyst is a professional who analyzes brain imaging data, such as MRI or CT scans, from a remote location using specialized software and statistical tools. Their work involves preprocessing, quality control, and extracting meaningful information from neuroimaging datasets for research or clinical purposes. They collaborate with neuroscientists, clinicians, and research teams, often using advanced computational methods to interpret complex brain images. Working remotely allows them to access and process data from various institutions without being physically present in a lab or hospital.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote neuroimaging data analyst?

To thrive as a Remote Neuroimaging Data Analyst, you need a solid background in neuroscience, statistics, and computer science, often supported by a relevant degree such as neuroscience, psychology, or biomedical engineering. Familiarity with neuroimaging software (e.g., SPM, FSL, AFNI), programming languages like Python or MATLAB, and experience with data analysis tools are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication are key soft skills for interpreting complex data and collaborating with research teams remotely. These skills ensure accurate analysis, meaningful scientific insights, and effective teamwork in distributed research environments.

What are some common challenges faced by remote neuroimaging data analysts, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Neuroimaging Data Analysts often encounter challenges such as managing large and complex datasets, ensuring data security and privacy, and maintaining clear communication with multidisciplinary teams. Working remotely can add complexity to collaboration, so utilizing reliable project management tools and regularly scheduled virtual meetings is essential. Staying updated on the latest neuroimaging software and analysis techniques, as well as adhering to strict data governance protocols, can help overcome these hurdles and ensure high-quality results.

What is the difference between Remote Neuroimaging Data Analyst vs Remote MRI Data Technician?

JOB SUMMARY:

We're looking for a Senior Data Business Analyst who can turn ambiguous business questions into clear, trusted reporting. You'll own our Power BI reporting environment end to end - from semantic model design to stakeholder delivery - and partner directly with senior and executive leaders to build the analytics that drive decisions across the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves solving messy data problems and communicating what the numbers actually mean.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models, including DAX measures, calculated columns, and interactive data visualizations
  • Write and maintain Snowflake SQL for reporting pipelines, data quality checks, and ad hoc analysis requests
  • Develop performance analytics around KPIs and other metrics to support key business initiatives
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders - including senior and executive-level requestors - to gather requirements and translate ambiguous business questions into clear technical specifications and solutions
  • Own the day-to-day intake, triage, and execution of Power BI reporting service desk requests, including prioritization and stakeholder communication on status and timelines
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and discrepancies across reporting platforms, working cross-functionally to resolve root causes
  • Maintain and improve documentation for reporting logic, data definitions, and BI assets
  • Coordinate with internal IT and data teams to maintain and improve reporting integrity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., business, finance, economics, computer science, statistics) or equivalent practical experience, preferred.
  • Exceptional hands-on experience with Power BI, including advanced DAX (measures, calculated columns, semantic model design)
  • Experience building financial performance analytics and deriving insights that drive value creation for the business
  • Willingness to take on problems without knowing the answer up front - grit and determination to work through ambiguity and find a solution
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and competing timelines effectively
  • Experience with Snowflake specifically (strongly preferred; candidates with strong SQL but no Snowflake experience will still be considered)
  • Exposure to AI platforms or tools (e.g., AI-assisted analytics, LLM-based tools)
  • Familiarity with retail, entertainment, franchise, or multi-location operations businesses
  • Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, joins, aggregations, troubleshooting) and familiarity with star schemas, fact/dimension tables, and semantic model design
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into technical solutions
  • Strong Excel skills (data connections, data manipulation, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior and executive stakeholders

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working on a computer and communicating via phone and Teams with or without reasonable accommodation.
