Sr. Network Engineer (Juniper SME)

Duration: 12+Months, possibility to extend

Location: Edwardsville, IL

Hours:  7:30am  - 4:30pm

Designation: On Site 5 days/week

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Juniper technologies and strong experience in modern data center and network architectures. This role will support enterprise network initiatives, focusing on design, optimization, and operational excellence across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support advanced network solutions, with a focus on Arista fabric technologies (VxLAN/EVPN, eBGP)
  • Provide cross-platform expertise across one or more of the following technologies:
    • SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Versa, Fortinet)
    • Juniper wireless (Wi-Fi)
    • Network Access Control (e.g., Forescout eyeSight/Segment)
    • Edge connectivity solutions (e.g., Cradlepoint)
  • Develop and maintain runbooks and operational documentation for Level 1 support teams
  • Act as an escalation point for complex network issues from L1/L2 teams
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Develop reporting and monitoring solutions to enhance network visibility and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Arista switching technologies and modern fabric architectures
  • Deep expertise in Juniper technologies (routing, switching, and/or wireless)
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet solutions (firewalls, SD-WAN, or security fabric)
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications

  • Juniper (JNCIP or JNCIE)
  • Arista (ACE or equivalent)
  • SD-WAN certifications (Versa, Fortinet, or similar)
