Management Consultant (MC-II, MC-III, or MC-IV) – 100% Remote


Summary:

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a full-time Management Consultant to support OUSD/OARS financial management, audit remediation, and business process improvement activities. This is a remote position, and candidates may be considered at MC-II, MC-III, or MC-IV based on their education and years of experience.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.


What will you do


You will combine management consulting and financial management expertise to help a Department of Defense client improve financial processes, resolve accounting and audit issues, strengthen internal controls, and develop practical procedures and solutions. The role requires hands-on analysis, collaboration with government and contractor teams, and clear documentation of findings and corrective actions.


Responsibilities:


• Conduct organizational, financial, and business process analyses and develop recommendations, reports, briefings, procedures, and related documentation.

• Support Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT) analysis, reconciliation, research, and remediation.

• Support audit remediation, including Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFR) and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) closure, internal control testing, and evidence development.

• Review and clean up general ledger accounts, perform general ledger-to-trial balance reconciliations, analyze posting logic, and resolve Level 1 through Level 4 and aged variances.

• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures, user guides, process narratives, and other business process remediation documentation.

• Use Advana to research, validate, analyze, and report Washington Headquarters Services financial information, and support PP&E audit remediation involving Real Property and General Equipment as needed.



Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance or higher.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline, as required for the applicable labor category.

• Federal or DoD experience in financial management, accounting, audit remediation, internal controls, or business process improvement.

• Hands-on experience across several of the following areas: FBwT, NFR/CAP closure, internal control testing, general ledger review, trial balance reconciliations, posting logic analysis, variance cleanup, or SOP and user guide development.

• Strong Advana experience is required, particularly with WHS-related financial data and processes.

• Experience with PP&E, Real Property, or General Equipment audit remediation is preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

• Candidates will be considered at MC-II, MC-III, or MC-IV based on the applicable education, years of experience, technical depth, leadership responsibilities, and contract requirements.
