The Meter Systems Engineer (MSE) is responsible for supporting technical application of all of the Company products. The MSE serves as the field expert and liaison for smart grid metering. This position is responsible for meter and product training, meter set up coordination and metering related trouble shooting and issue resolution. This position is Remote but the ideal candidate lives in the Southeastern part of the United States to cover specific territories. Must be bilingual in English/Spanish to support international market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop understanding of product strengths and weaknesses as they pertain to market requirements
• Gather Competitive Intelligence
• Develop and deliver technical sales presentations to prospective and/or existing customers
• Attend trade shows and regional metering schools to conduct technical sales presentations in large group sessions
• Provide technical expertise and information to customers and prospects on system configurations, usage, operation, and features.
• Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry activities, trends, and regulatory issues Communicate "industry best practices" to maximize the value of Company solutions
• Develop positive customer relationships through pro-active customer management while providing guidance to customers in implementation, operation, training, and problem resolution
• Provide detailed information and coordinate with internal Company support teams to resolve customer issues
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
• Promptly complete and file expense reports, detailed trip reports, and documentation of customer-related activities into Company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Develop appropriate communication channels and relationships in support of the sales teams need for internal information and communication to customers and the market. Maintains these channels in a manner that ensures cooperation, support, and teamwork.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Microsoft office. Experienced user of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems preferably SAP.
Education and Experience:
• Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree
• Required Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ to 5
Desired Education/Experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree required / Advance degree desired from a 4-year college or university or
• equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 to 5 years successful performance in a customer service or technical support related position in an electronic
• technology related field including independent travel and customer contact
• Experience with utility operations. AMR operations is a plus
• Must have excellent computer skills including the ability to utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM systems
• Required/Desired Certifications (if any): Must have a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements/Safety/PPE/OHSAS:
• Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.
