Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for code management and deployments utilizing Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO), Jenkins, and related CI/CD tooling. Leverages automated server builds, tools, and critical infrastructure that supports the company's technology stack. This role interacts with the application development team and works closely with developers in deploying cross-platform code, providing operational support and infrastructure assistance. The DevOps Engineer assists in troubleshooting issues, improving automation, creation of new project pipelines, and security scanning tool integration across all projects.
Education & Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Security, IT, or related field with programming coursework, or equivalent experience.
  • If supporting TRICARE, must be a U.S. citizen and obtain favorable interim and final DoD background investigation.
  • 2+ years in DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipeline development, or related infrastructure automation.
  • 2+ years with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git-based source control, and branching strategies.
  • 2+ years with configuration management/automation tools (Chef, Ansible, or equivalent).
  • 2+ years using cloud technologies (Azure preferred).2+ years integrating applications using SOA/web services with knowledge of ADO.NET.
  • 2+ years deploying applications in Windows Server and/or Red Hat Linux environments.Knowledge of software build cycles and deployment best practices.
  • Fluent in PowerShell and Bash scripting.Experience deploying code and defining branching strategies
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps and agile practices with emphasis on CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Experience communicating with both technical and business audiences.

Preferred:
• Experience with Git-GitHub and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Knowledge of Entity Framework
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Ruby or Python scripting
• Experience with Chef Enterprise Application Stack
• Familiarity with current NIST, CIS, HIPAA, and VA Handbook requirements for security hardening for OS and application hardening
• Technical experience working with healthcare systems or in a government contract systems environment
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and support the design and development of automated scripts for code deployments.
• Support continuous and consistent integration across multiple projects for development teams.
• Design and build automated frameworks for the deployment and monitoring of web-based services and applications.
• Maintain user manuals, system design update playbooks, documents, processes, and update pipeline ReadMe and diagrams.
• Perform on-call support functions.
• Participate in all Scrum activities such as creating user stories, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
