Vantage is seeking a commercial natural gas professional to support the development and execution of fuel supply and infrastructure solutions for large-scale data center and power generation projects across North America. This role will focus on natural gas supply strategy, transportation and storage arrangements, midstream infrastructure coordination, and commercial structuring to support hyperscale load growth and behind-the-meter generation development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in physical natural gas markets, including gas trading, marketing, transportation, storage, scheduling, or supply origination, and possess a strong commercial mindset with the ability to evaluate market dynamics, negotiate complex agreements, and develop creative fuel supply solutions around infrastructure and reliability constraints.
Candidates may come from midstream companies, gas marketers, producers, utilities, pipeline operators, trading organizations, IPPs, or large industrial energy users, and should have familiarity with interstate pipeline systems, transportation agreements, capacity releases, storage products, balancing arrangements, basis exposure, and physical gas delivery strategies across major North American basins and hubs. Strong relationships within the natural gas and midstream industry are highly desired.
In addition to commercial gas market experience, the role requires exposure to power generation development and infrastructure strategy, including an understanding of development risks, timelines, and commercial considerations associated with new generation resources and supporting fuel infrastructure. This includes familiarity with gas lateral development, interconnect agreements, long-lead infrastructure planning, utility coordination, fuel redundancy strategies, and the commercial implications of supporting large incremental load growth.
This role will work cross-functionally with development, infrastructure, legal, utility, and executive teams to support scalable and reliable fuel supply solutions for mission-critical infrastructure projects.
Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and execute natural gas supply strategies across North American markets
  • Structure and support negotiation of gas supply, transportation, storage, and balancing agreements
  • Coordinate with pipelines, midstream providers, marketers, and producers to secure reliable fuel supply
  • Evaluate basin dynamics, basis exposure, infrastructure constraints, and market opportunities
  • Support development of transportation strategies including firm, interruptible, and capacity release arrangements
  • Analyze and support storage and balancing strategies to ensure operational reliability
  • Coordinate gas infrastructure development including laterals, interconnects, and upstream capacity
  • Collaborate with power development teams to align fuel supply with generation and load timelines
  • Build and maintain relationships across midstream, pipeline, and gas market participants
  • Support negotiation and execution of complex commercial gas agreements
  • Partner cross-functionally with development, legal, infrastructure, and executive teams
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Energy, Engineering, or related field
  • 4-8 years of experience in natural gas markets, trading, marketing, midstream, or related roles

  • Familiarity with interstate pipelines, capacity release, and gas infrastructure development
  • Exposure to power generation or infrastructure development is preferred
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to evaluate market dynamics and develop strategic solutions
  • Strong network within gas, midstream, or pipeline industry preferred
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Physical Demands and Special Requirements
  • Primarily desk-based, remote office role.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional meetings outside normal business hours may be required due to cross-functional or counterparty scheduling.

Additional Details
  • Salary Range: $150,000-$170,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance programs, and participation in a 401(k) plan with company match.
