What is a remote music assistant?

Remote Music Assistants are professionals who support musicians, producers, or music industry teams from a remote location. Their duties often include scheduling, organizing digital files, managing emails, coordinating virtual meetings, researching music trends, and assisting with social media or promotional tasks. They may also handle basic audio editing or help with playlist curation, depending on their skills. This role allows music professionals to stay organized and focused on their creative work while administrative and logistical tasks are managed virtually.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote music assistant?

To thrive as a Remote Music Assistant, you need a strong background in music administration, organization, and basic knowledge of music theory or production, often supported by experience in the music industry or related education. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs), cloud collaboration platforms, and music cataloging software is commonly required. Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail are vital soft skills for coordinating remotely with artists, managers, and other stakeholders. These skills ensure efficient support, seamless collaboration, and the smooth execution of musical projects in a remote environment.

How does a remote music assistant typically collaborate with producers and artists in a virtual setting?

As a Remote Music Assistant, you’ll frequently communicate with producers, artists, and other team members using project management tools, video calls, and shared cloud storage. Your role may involve coordinating schedules, managing digital files, assisting with session prep, and relaying feedback between stakeholders. Staying organized and responsive is key to ensuring smooth workflows and maintaining strong professional relationships in a remote environment.

Job description

About Scrunch

Scrunch, a Sitecore company, is on a mission to bring brands to an AI-first future—where people increasingly rely on LLMs to discover, understand, and act on information that matters to them.

As AI search and conversational agents replace traditional web search and browsing, Scrunch helps marketing teams rethink how their products and services are discovered and surfaced on AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and more—working with AI platforms, not against them. This shift represents the biggest change to marketing since the dawn of the internet.

Today, more than 500 paying brands—including Fortune 500 companies like Lenovo, category-defining brands like Akamai, ADP, Lenovo and breakout startups like Clerk—use the platform.

About the Role

This is not a calendar-and-travel-only role. You’ll be the operational backbone for the founders - anticipating needs, creating systems, removing friction, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. You’ll handle both professional and personal priorities so the founders can focus on leading the company. You’ll also help train us to work better with you.

You must be based in NYC for this role. It is hybrid with an in-office requirement of 3 days/week.

What You’ll Do
  • Own and manage complex calendars, meetings, and travel - ruthlessly prioritizing for impact.

  • Act as a gatekeeper for time and energy; help the founders focus on what matters most.

  • Prepare agendas, capture and track action items, and follow up relentlessly.

  • Coordinate across the leadership team and with external partners.

  • Handle personal errands and life admin to keep the founders’ lives running seamlessly.

  • Create and refine processes for scheduling, information flow, and task tracking.

  • Anticipate needs before they’re expressed, and resolve problems before they arise.

  • Serve as an NYC office on-site point of contact for day-to-day office needs, visitors, deliveries, and vendors.

  • Coordinate with building management on access, maintenance, and facilities requests

  • Assist with internal events, team gatherings, and all-hands meetings

  • Maintain NYC office supply inventory and manage reorders

  • Support ad hoc administrative or operational tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as an EA, ideally in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a bias for action and follow-through.

  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information.

  • Clear, concise communicator - both written and verbal.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and unflappable when plans change (and they will).

  • Comfortable balancing both personal and professional responsibilities for executives.

If you’re resourceful, highly organized, and energized by making other people’s lives run better, we’d love to meet you.

Benefits for full-time US employees:
