Summary
Department: 56 Force Support Squadron (FSS) Marketing Department
Funding Type: Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF)
Employment Type: Flexible (No guaranteed hours, no benefits)
Core Mission: To design, develop, and manage dynamic visual content and social media platforms for the 56 Force Support Squadron (FSS). This role utilizes professional graphic design, photography, and videography to promote FSS programs while executing the squadron's digital content calendar.

  • Graphic Design: Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to design and layout publicity materials, photos, and artwork for commercial print, electronic media, and website use.
  • Multimedia Production: Provide professional photography, audio, and video support, including lighting setup, color correction, and audio/video editing.
  • Social Media Management: Manage the 56 FSS social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), staying current on emerging digital trends and platforms.
  • Content Strategy: Develop and manage the marketing content calendar, partnering with the team to execute both planned and real-time promotional content.

What we're looking for when selecting applicants for the marketing & publicity office:

  • Experience listed in the position description for each listing e.g Visual Information Assistant: Graphic artist with experience in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Experience in sales & advertising
  • Resilient with the capabilities of working in a high demand and fast paced environment.
  • Veterans preferred with KSA of military structure, financial demands and military culture (Public Affairs experience highly preferred, similar expectations as FSS Marketing)
  • High oral and verbal communication skills
  • Must showcase actual layout and print production work in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop rather than just personal drawings or fine art.
  • Able to handle direct feedback, sudden design changes, and tight deadlines without getting overwhelmed.
  • Willing to work within strict brand guidelines and military regulations instead of requiring complete creative freedom.
  • Strong communication skills to take vague, unstructured ideas from clients and turn them into clean, effective designs.
  • Needs some solid marketing experience and a background of working in a professional office environment.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Experience: Proven experience in graphic design, multimedia production (photo/video/audio), and professional social media management.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in a wide variety of software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and preparing media files for both commercial print and digital platforms. Experience in shooting and editing footage from scratch and shooting video and photos with DSLR cameras. Full proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
  • Content Organization: Ability to manage a comprehensive marketing content calendar and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Education
