Renco Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote telehealth practice. In this full-time role, you will provide essential mental health services to a diverse patient population using culturally competent and inclusive therapeutic approaches. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the mental well-being of individuals and families from various backgrounds in Spokane, Washington, while adhering to best practices in remote care.

Work Environment

As a remote position, this role offers you the flexibility to work from home while connecting with patients via secure telehealth platforms. You will join a supportive and inclusive team of mental health professionals who are dedicated to promoting wellness and resilience in our clients. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexible hours to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and culturally-sensitive mental health assessments to understand each patient's unique challenges, facilitating the development of tailored treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ensuring that the approach is individualized according to the patient's personal and cultural context.
  • Provide therapy sessions, including individual, family, and group therapy, to effectively address mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to patient care.
  • Offer crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, utilizing your strong crisis management skills to stabilize and support patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to foster a better understanding of their care.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to share insights, strategies, and constructive feedback on patient care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by attending cultural competency training and remaining updated on the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be serving a diverse clientele, including individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBTQ+ community members, and immigrant populations. This role is integral in providing mental health services that are culturally competent, fostering an inclusive environment where patients feel understood and supported in their healing journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington State.
  • Strong understanding of mental health disorders and best practices for evidence-based treatment, emphasizing cultural competence in therapeutic settings.
  • Proficient experience conducting individual and group therapy with a focus on culturally responsive practices.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills, with a capacity for maintaining calm and professionalism in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and efficiency in computer applications.
