Our outpatient facility is committed to offering culturally sensitive care, ensuring that all clientsโ€”regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, or immigration statusโ€”feel welcomed and understood. Our team is dedicated to fostering a supportive atmosphere that facilitates healing, growth, and well-being through an evidence-based, client-centered approach.

Work Environment

This full-time position operates from our outpatient office located in Cambridge, MA, with flexible remote work options. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individualized and culturally sensitive mental health assessments, utilizing standardized tools and clinical interviews to ensure comprehensive understanding of each patient's unique experiences.
  • Implement tailored, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to address the specific needs of diverse clients.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, using techniques that promote resilience and coping strategies, while adapting approaches to fit differing cultural contexts.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and allied health professionals, participating in treatment planning and case conferences to ensure holistic care for each patient.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services during acute mental health emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques and immediate intervention strategies.
  • Educate and empower patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, available treatment options, and resources within the community.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential clinical records in compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by participating in team meetings, cultural competency training, and staying informed about best practices in mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice places particular emphasis on serving multicultural clients, including but not limited to ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ populations, and immigrant communities. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being of individuals from these backgrounds by providing inclusive and responsive therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Possession of a current and valid license as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Massachusetts.
  • A strong foundation in understanding mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly those sensitive to cultural nuances.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering culturally responsive individual and group therapy.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable effective rapport-building with diverse client populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and a familiarity with relevant computer applications to document patient care efficiently.
  • A commitment to ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting, contributing diverse perspectives and facilitating coordinated care.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in multicultural settings and working with marginalized communities.
  • Advanced training or specialization in specific therapeutic modalities or crisis intervention techniques.
  • Participation in peer consultation or supervision as a commitment to ongoing professional development.
