Job description

Graphic Design Consultant (Part Time)
The Luminos Fund, an international nonprofit bringing education opportunities to the world's most vulnerable children, seeks an experienced Graphic Design Consultant to create high-quality digital and print assets that clearly and compellingly communicate Luminos' mission and impact. This role will help ensure Luminos' materials are consistently on-brand, visually polished, accessible, and effective in advancing our storytelling and organizational presence.
This part-time (~40 hours/month), 6-month contract offers remote flexibility, with the requirement to be based within the EST time zones. The Graphic Design Consultant will report to the Associate Director of Communications and work closely with team members across the organization. The contract is expected to begin in July 2026 and run through December 2026, with the possibility of an extension.

Duties and Responsibilities
Design responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Creating social media graphics, including short animations and videos, carousel graphics, and data visualizations.
  • Designing data and strategy visualizations for the website, reports, presentations, and other external materials.
  • Formatting PowerPoint presentations in Luminos-branded templates, including using Luminos icons, photography, and creating PowerPoint-editable graphics.
    • Presentation design support will include distilling executive-level thinking, data, and complex concepts into compelling, easy-to-read slides and graphics free from typos or errors.
  • Formatting and designing reports, proposals, concept notes, and other publications in Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign.
  • Designing printed collateral for events, such as postcards, flyers, banners, and signage.
  • Designing branded promotional items and gifts.
  • Expanding the Luminos icon library by creating custom icons in the Luminos style.
  • Supporting fast turnaround design needswhile maintaining strong attention to detail, brand consistency, and accessibility.
Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally including both print and digital design.
  • Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Deep experience with formatting and producing materials in Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, including the ability to spot typos, inconsistencies, and formatting issues.
  • Proven organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Availability to start this role in July 2026.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience designing for nonprofit organizations, international development projects, or research/evidence-focused communications.
  • Experience with light animations and video editing.
  • Experience with Canto.
