• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, determining their specific needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to help seniors navigate emotional challenges stemming from aging and significant life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including medical providers and social workers, to create comprehensive care plans that prioritize the mental well-being of our geriatric patients.
• Provide education and training to families and caregivers about effective strategies to support the mental health of elderly individuals.
• Guide residents and their families through grief and loss counseling, especially during end-of-life discussions and transitions.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and therapeutic programs aimed at enhancing cognitive function and emotional resilience in elderly clients.

This position primarily focuses on providing mental health support to seniors, many of whom are dealing with age-related issues such as bereavement, chronic health conditions, and loneliness. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, requiring counselors who are empathetic and culturally competent in order to effectively meet their unique needs.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing mental health support specifically to geriatric populations.
• Specialized training in geriatric mental health and an understanding of the complexities of aging and mental health issues.
• Proficiency in evidence-based practices relevant to elderly mental health and familiarity with various counseling modalities.

• Experience working in a community health clinic or similar setting that caters to the unique needs of elderly clients.
• A background in addiction counseling is a plus, as many seniors face dual diagnoses.
• Strong capacity to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment strategies.
• Knowledge of ethical guidelines and legal standards related to geriatric mental health counseling.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus to help you start your journey with us.
