Position Overview:

Assist the borrower in determining the proper loan program, complete the loan application and gather the necessary paperwork, including pay stubs, tax returns, and bank statements, to begin the loan process. A credit report is obtained and analyzed by the originator. During the mortgage loan process, the mortgage originator communicates with the appraiser, title officer, escrow officer, loan processor, and underwriter.

Duties & Responsibilities Overview:

  • Originate mortgage loans from self-generated efforts, corporate relationship referrals, and other campaigns.
  • Interview applicants to develop information regarding their goals and determine the appropriate products, terms, and pricing.
  • Take applications, conduct preliminary reviews, and submit complete loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
  • Ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing, are secured in a timely manner during origination.
  • Take initiative to conduct daily marketing efforts with an expectation to generate 4+ loans per month.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with customer inquiries.
  • Achieve team and individual sales/production goals and objectives.
  • Maintains and Utilizes CRM.

Requirements Overview:

  • NMLS License.
  • 2 Years outside loan originator experience.
  • High School degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple loans/priorities at the same time.
