What is remote moonlighting?

A Remote Moonlighting job is a secondary job or freelance work that you do outside of your primary employment, typically in a remote or online setting. It allows professionals to earn extra income, gain new skills, or pursue personal interests without leaving their main job. However, it's important to review your primary employer's policies to ensure compliance with any non-compete or conflict-of-interest agreements. Many roles in remote moonlighting include freelance writing, consulting, software development, and virtual assistance. Proper time management is essential to balance both jobs effectively.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote moonlighting?

To succeed in remote moonlighting roles, you generally need strong time management, self-motivation, and expertise in your primary professional field—often supported by a relevant degree or professional certifications. Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, project management platforms, and file-sharing systems is often necessary. Excellent communication, discipline, and adaptability help individuals efficiently balance multiple jobs and integrate with diverse remote teams. These skills are crucial for effectively managing responsibilities, upholding professional standards, and maintaining work-life balance while working remotely on multiple assignments.

What are common challenges in remote moonlighting and how can they be overcome?

Remote moonlighting often involves juggling multiple projects or roles, which can result in challenges related to time management, meeting overlapping deadlines, and maintaining productivity without direct supervision. Professionals typically overcome these obstacles by setting clear schedules, establishing boundaries with primary employers, and using productivity tools to organize their tasks. It’s also important to communicate proactively with all parties involved to manage expectations and avoid conflicts of interest. Many find success by prioritizing tasks and setting realistic goals to ensure quality work across all commitments.

This is a strictly clinical position, giving you the space to focus on what matters most: patient care.

What You Will Do:

  • Make a Meaningful Impact: Diagnose and treat children, adolescents, and/or adults in alignment with your licensure and clinical focus.
  • Deliver Personalized Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and create individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient's unique needs.
  • Lead with Clinical Excellence: Prescribe and manage medications using evidence-based practices, while monitoring treatment effectiveness.
  • Thrive in Team-Based Care: Collaborate with behavioral health, primary care, and support teams in an integrated care model.
  • Work Your Way: Provide care virtually or in a hybrid setting—depending on clinical need and your preference.
  • Engage in Shared Learning: Join case consultations, team huddles, and care planning sessions that promote collaboration.
  • Keep Documentation Seamless: Use our intuitive EHR system to maintain clear, timely, and compliant records.
  • Stay Current & Compliant: Meet Arizona Medical or Osteopathic Board requirements, including licensure and continuing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of patient care and organizational goals.

What We Need From You:

  • MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (Child, Adult, or both).
  • Active DEA license and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and virtual care platforms.
  • 3–5 years of experience preferred; recent residency graduates also encouraged to apply.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Must provide valid driver's license and auto insurance for credentialing purposes.
  • Comfortable with a Pay-for-Performance (P4P) model – Unlock greater earning potential through productivity-based incentives designed to reward your clinical impact.

Your Work Schedule:

We’re here to support your lifestyle and goals. Whether you want a flexible 10-hour part-time role, full-time W-2 position, we’ll work with you to build a schedule that makes sense.

  • Part-Time: Minimum 20 hours/week, 2x10 or 3x10 options
