Job description

Position Overview

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking compassionate and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our dedicated team. This full-time remote position is focused on providing in-depth therapeutic services to children and their families who are facing developmental disabilities and related challenges. As a vital member of our organization, you will be instrumental in enhancing the mental health and emotional well-being of our young clients, while also providing significant support to their caregivers.

About the Organization

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is a leading provider of mental health services in Maryland, committed to delivering comprehensive mental health and behavioral services to children, adolescents, and families. Our holistic approach integrates community resources aimed at fostering family empowerment, enriching client outcomes, and ensuring accessibility to essential support. We focus on creating safe spaces where therapeutic interventions can help young individuals thrive in their respective environments.

Work Environment

This role will be conducted in a fully remote setting, allowing flexibility while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals. As part of a community health clinic model, you will interact with families via telehealth sessions, ensuring that high-quality therapy can reach individuals in the comfort and safety of their homes. The team is dedicated to an inclusive and nurturing work culture that emphasizes professional growth and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions remotely for children and families, addressing emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each childโ€™s unique needs, focusing on reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and violence.
  • Facilitate skill-building exercises in areas such as anger management, coping strategies, and social interaction to empower children and their caregivers.
  • Engage in regular consultations with the Child Family Treatment Team, and collaborate with other specialists to integrate services effectively.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other necessary records in accordance with agency and state guidelines.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings to contribute insights and recommendations that enhance program offerings and client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges aged 3 to 20. We aim to provide support not only to the children but also to their families and caregivers, equipping them with the tools they need to foster a positive home environment. By working closely with each family, you will help them navigate the complexities of daily life and build skills that promote self-determination, resilience, and overall wellness.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a relevant field.
  • An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Maryland.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours each week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for weekend sessions.
  • Passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working with children aged 3 to 20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies.
  • Proficiency in bilingual therapy, especially for Spanish or Portuguese speakers, is a strong advantage.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential client visits.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Dynamic work environment with opportunities for flexibility and wellness initiatives.
  • Ongoing job training and professional development.
  • Group health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Annual paid time off and holidays to promote work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability benefits for peace of mind.
  • A 401K retirement plan to support your financial future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Home and Community Mental Care, Inc., we are committed to helping our employees reach their professional goals. As a therapist, you will have access to a variety of internal training programs, mentorship from experienced clinicians, and opportunities to advance into leadership roles within the organization. We believe in nurturing talent and expanding the skill sets of our team members to contribute to exceptional client care.

Why Join Our Team
