Posting Title: VDC Coordinator II
Reports To: VDC Technologies Supervisor
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $45.00/hour to $55.00/hour

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. THE ENGINEERING TEAM
With an in-house team of electrical engineers, designers, VDC coordinators and CAD operators, our resources rival those of standalone engineering firms. We are a true provider of turnkey electrical solutions—from design to delivery. As a part of this department, you can expect to work closely with our project management and field installation teams to streamline the construction process.

ABOUT THE ROLE
VDC Coordinator II supports the planning, development, coordination and implementation of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes throughout the project lifecycle. Assisting CEI Engineering and production teams in implementation of VDC models and methodologies. This includes working closely with internal teams and external partners, including preferred BIM/VDC consultants, to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Provide VDC services for assigned projects, including implementation of VDC execution plan, schedules, model coordination, maintenance and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and document VDC models received from architects, engineers, contractors and sub-contractors
  • Ensure VDC models comply with project BIMx or BEP as well as company VDC standards
  • Provide technical support to CEI Engineering design team to resolve VDC model issues and ensure VDC Operations are carried out.
  • Document and report weekly on project status, risks and required actions to VDC Manager and Engineering design team as applicable.
  • Create, review and resolve QC Error Reporting and delegate to Engineering/Design Team accordingly. 
  • If required, attend internal and external project VDC coordination meetings.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Support Engineering design team with Revit modeling, coordination, and submittals
  • Support implementation of VDC technologies, workflows and CEI standards
  • Track and resolve model-related issues throughout project execution

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Operates with general direction; objectives and priorities are set by the VDC Manager.

ABOUT YOU

  • Working expertise in best practices, model authoring & maintenance, sheet production and trade(s) coordination.
  • Proficiency with core VDC tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Forma) as well as clash coordination applications such as (Newforma).
  • Maintain clear communication and awareness of Engineering/design team Tasks, deliverables and progress for internal and external obligations. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; College education in a related field preferred

Licensure/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 4+ years in a design/build electrical contractor or consulting firm (focused on electrical). 

Work Location:  Hybrid preferred or Remote - work from home, reporting to the office as needed. Occasional travel.
