Position Overview

At SpryPoint, we build innovative web and mobile applications that help utilities modernize the way they serve their communities. As a Data Developer, you'll play an important role in turning data into meaningful insights by designing, developing, and maintaining reporting and analytics solutions using technologies such as PostgreSQL and Metabase.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business and reporting needs, ensure data is accurate and reliable, and build solutions that make it easier for our clients and internal teams to access and use their data. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise, analytical thinking, and understanding of data to support better, data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines to support reporting and analytics requirements
  • Implement and manage reporting solutions using tools like Metabase, ensuring user-friendly dashboards and visualizations
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver actionable insights through reports
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation to prepare datasets for reporting purposes
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting processes to ensure reliability and performance
  • Work closely with team members to support data-driven decision-making initiatives
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, reporting, and analytics
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications in data management, database administration, or data analytics are a plus
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Strong understanding of database design, data modelling, and ETL processes
  • Experience with Python programming language is preferred, and some understanding of API development is considered a bonus
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
