WHAT YOU'LL DO

Team coverage

  • Research, write, and edit Articles and Posts related to topical coverage of the New York Yankees.
  • Research and develop a rolodex of team and league sources.
  • Appear on external outlets and at marketing events to promote SB Nation team sites.
  • Execute sponsorships, on and off platform.

Audience development

  • Implement content strategies as described by the MLB editorial leadership team.
  • Build audience through on-platform posts and via social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Monitor and make editorial decisions using analytical tools such as Parse.ly, Google Analytics, and SEO principles, in conjunction with MLB editorial leadership. Use all these tools to help define best practices for coverage.

Community engagement

  • Work with editorial leadership to engage and grow the site's community by creating and moderating Feed posts that spark conversation, highlight different perspectives, and keep discussions active around games, players, news, and fandom.
  • Regularly engage the site's community in the Comments section, starting new conversations, replying to existing conversations, and recommending comments and Feed posts.

Site management

  • Assign posts to contributors; manage and optimize budget; manage scheduling and distribution; seeks, guides, and gives feedback to staff of freelancers.

Strategy

  • Attend regular meetings to discuss and refine strategy, programming, and tactics in pursuit of our audience goals.
  • Collaborate with MLB editorial leadership and other SB Nation team members to generate editorial ideas and sponsorship opportunities, locally and nationally.
