Job description

Clear Group is a vertically integrated design-build organization encompassing architecture, construction, millwork, development, and shared administrative services. Our long-term vision is to become a fully integrated firm capable of designing and building virtually any structure entirely in-house.

The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities, primarily through Clear Architecture, that drive long-term growth across Clear Construction, Clear Millwork, and future affiliated companies. This role is responsible for developing and cultivating trusted relationships with homeowners, architects, interior designers, luxury real estate professionals, developers, family offices, estate attorneys, wealth advisors, and other strategic referral partners to create a consistent pipeline of qualified project opportunities.

As the front door to the Clear brand, the Senior Business Development Manager plays a critical role in shaping prospective clients' first impression of our company. This individual is ultimately accountable for developing a predictable pipeline of qualified opportunities that convert into long-term, profitable client relationships.

This position can be based in our Santa Barbara office, or from a remote home office in Ventura or Los Angeles.. Target total compensation ranges from $200,000 to $250,000 annually, consisting of a competitive base salary plus performance-based commissions.


Core Responsibilities

  • Business Development Strategy
    • Develop and execute Clear’s business development strategy to generate qualified project opportunities
    • Continuously identify new markets, referral sources, and strategic partnerships
    • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities across all stages of the client journey
    • Develop annual business development goals and measurable activity metrics
    • Regularly evaluate business development efforts and adjust strategies based on performance
  • Relationship Development
    • Develop long-term relationships with architects, interior designers, luxury real estate professionals, developers, and high-net-worth homeowners
    • Build strategic relationships with family offices, estate attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, and other trusted advisors
    • Maintain regular communication with existing clients to generate repeat business and referrals
    • Become a trusted advisor rather than simply a sales representative
    • Represent Clear with professionalism, integrity, and consistency in every interaction
  • Lead Generation
    • Generate qualified opportunities for Clear Architecture through networking, referrals, community involvement, and strategic outreach
    • Schedule introductory meetings with prospective clients and referral partners
    • Attend industry events, networking functions, conferences, charitable organizations, and community events
    • Coordinate lunches, site visits, educational presentations, and relationship-building activities
    • Develop creative strategies for expanding Clear’s referral network
  • Opportunity Qualification
    • Evaluate prospective opportunities for strategic fit with Clear’s services and ideal client profile
    • Understand each client’s goals, budget, timeline, decision-making process, and project priorities
    • Identify opportunities for integrated Architecture, Construction, Millwork, and future affiliated services
    • Ensure qualified opportunities transition smoothly into the architectural design process
  • Sales Process Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Architecture, Preconstruction, and Construction throughout the sales process
    • Coordinate discovery meetings, proposal presentations, interviews, and follow-up communication
    • Ensure prospects experience a seamless transition from initial inquiry through signed agreement
    • Ensure all client interactions, opportunity updates, meeting notes, and business development activities are accurately documented within Salesforce to maintain visibility across the organization
  • CRM & Relationship Management
    • Maintain complete and accurate records of all prospects, referral partners, clients, and business development activities within Salesforce
    • Create and maintain Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, and Activities in accordance with company CRM standards
    • Document meetings, phone calls, emails, referrals, introductions, relationship history, and key client preferences
    • Maintain accurate opportunity stages, expected close dates, projected revenue, and probability forecasts
    • Schedule follow-up tasks and ensure all commitments are tracked and completed
    • Regularly review pipeline reports and maintain high-quality CRM data to support forecasting and business planning
    • Collaborate with Marketing and company leadership to improve CRM workflows, reporting, and lead management processes
    • Serve as the primary owner of CRM records created through business development efforts until the opportunity is transitioned to the project team
  • Client Experience
    • Deliver an exceptional first impression of the Clear brand
    • Establish credibility and trust early in every client relationship
    • Ensure every prospective client experiences responsiveness, professionalism, transparency, and expertise

Experience and Capabilities

  • 5+ years of successful business development, relationship management, luxury real estate, architecture, construction, or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field of study.
  • Existing network within the Southern California luxury residential market strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to generate high-value professional service opportunities
  • Experience working with affluent clientele and professional referral partners
  • Experience using Salesforce or another enterprise CRM to manage opportunities, client relationships, forecasting, and business development activities
  • Demonstrated discipline in maintaining accurate CRM data and pipeline reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships that result in measurable business growth
  • A valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
