Remote - USA Only | Strong Preference for Selected Midwest States Travel: ~10% annually

Overview

Join a team that's redefining mechanical innovation in the oil and gas sector. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the design, optimization, and validation of advanced mobile mechanical systems that power drilling, completions, well intervention, and field operations. This role blends hands-on engineering with creative problem-solving-perfect for an engineer who thrives on turning complex challenges into reliable, high-performance solutions.

Location: Remote within the Midwest (MN, WI, IL, IA, MO, KS, TX, OK, AR, LA, ) Travel: ~10% annually to customer sites and fabrication facilities Industry: Industrial, Petrochemical, and Heavy Equipment Systems

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop:ย Engineer mobile mechanical systems for oil and gas applications-hydraulic equipment, mobile lifting systems, and field-service machinery.
  • Optimize Performance:ย Enhance reliability and efficiency for high-pressure, high-load, and high-cycle environments.
  • Model and Draw:ย Create detailed CAD models and drawings using Inventor (preferred), Pro-E, or SolidWorks.
  • Prototype and Validate:ย Test and refine equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and Improve:ย Diagnose field issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement in system performance.
  • Collaborate and Lead:ย Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust, field-ready solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, power units, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept through deployment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
