You will collaborate closely with educators, school administrators, and health professionals to ensure that students receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs. This position's flexible hours may include day, evening, and weekend shifts depending on school requirements and student availability.

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of students to understand their emotional, social, and financial needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions that address issues such as anxiety, grief, adjustment disorders, and coping strategies in a school setting.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote a supportive learning environment and to integrate mental health support into educational practices.
• Coordinate with community organizations and stakeholders to secure post-discharge services for students, ensuring continuity of care.
• Develop discharge plans and provide referrals to necessary community resources while advocating for students’ needs.
• Participate in school wellness programs and committees, contributing social work expertise to enrich the educational environment.
• Maintain detailed and timely progress notes, treatment plans, and documentation in alignment with both school policies and legal requirements.
• Provide crisis intervention services and emotional support to students and their families when immediate assistance is required.

You will engage with a diverse student population across various age groups, focusing on individuals from Latinx backgrounds and other underserved communities. Your role is integral in dismantling stigmas around mental health and promoting resilience and well-being among students. The impact of your work not only aids in individual healing but contributes to positive academic and social outcomes for the entire school community.

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to connect with students, families, and educational staff confidently.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, crisis intervention techniques, and mental health disorders.
• Competence in navigating the complexities of school systems and understanding the unique challenges faced by students from diverse backgrounds.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare or educational setting is preferred.
• Experience with evidence-based therapeutic methodologies and familiarity with different therapeutic approaches that cater to the needs of children and adolescents.
• Understanding of cultural competencies, particularly concerning the Latinx community and its distinctive mental health challenges.
