Senior Software Test Automation Engineer - Agentic AI

We are seeking a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to help drive quality across modern web applications and cloud-native services. In this role, you will design and implement scalable automated testing solutions, improve software reliability, and integrate quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
You'll collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and platform teams to ensure high-quality releases through automation, CI/CD integration, and quality-first engineering practices. The ideal candidate combines strong quality engineering fundamentals with a willingness to embrace emerging AI-assisted and agentic engineering technologies. While deep experience building AI agents is not required, successful candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to rapidly learn and apply new tools that enhance software quality and engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, and integrated services.
  • Build and enhance test automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to define testable requirements and quality strategies.
  • Integrate and maintain automated testing within CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Analyze test results, identify quality risks, and improve test coverage and regression effectiveness.
  • Validate software deployments across cloud-hosted environments and support release readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot automation, environment, and test data issues to improve delivery efficiency.
  • Leverage AI-assisted and emerging agentic engineering tools to accelerate test design, automation development, test maintenance, and defect investigation.
  • Evaluate AI-generated code, tests, and recommendations, applying sound engineering judgment to ensure maintainability, reliability, and quality.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve quality engineering efficiency through automation, intelligent tooling, and modern engineering practices.
  • Mentor team members and help advance quality engineering standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, SDET, or related roles.
  • Strong experience building automated UI, API, and integration tests.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python.
  • Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD practices.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices in a rapidly evolving software development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing React applications and customer-facing workflows.
  • Experience with Node.js tooling and services built on .NET and/or Java.
  • Knowledge of GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with performance, accessibility, security, or reliability testing.
  • Familiarity with BDD, spec-driven development, or requirements-first engineering practices.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development tools, or emerging agent-based engineering workflows to improve development, testing, or quality engineering productivity.
  • Demonstrated interest in AI-assisted software engineering and a track record of successfully adopting new technologies and tools.
  • Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
