Department OverviewThe Northeast Software Deployment and Integration team delivers solutions to the public safety customers. We are committed to providing solutions that will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Computer-Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems, and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex public safety and commercial communication solutions across the Northeast Region of the US. This is a remote position requiring strong leadership, technical understanding, and client-facing skills.

Location: Remote (Must be based in the Eastern U.S. Region)

Travel: 25% - 50% within the Eastern U.S. (primarily the Northeast)


Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of multiple, concurrent projects from initiation through closure, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and within-scope delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and budget.
  • Lead project teams, providing guidance, direction, and motivation to achieve project goals.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.
  • Establish project budgets, monitor schedules, and review/approve project invoices.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, vendors, and senior management, providing regular project status updates and managing expectations.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and ensure adherence to Motorola Solutions' project management methodologies and quality standards.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Oversee contract compliance, change orders, and billing processes.
  • Travel periodically within the Northeast Region for client meetings, site visits, and project reviews as required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Communications, CIS, BIT) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience in project management, program management, business operations, finance, IT solutions, or training. Preferably within the public safety, telecommunications, critical communications, or IT industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects.
  • Direct experience with enterprise software deployment workflows.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile), and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Google Workspace, or similar project management software.
  • PMP certification is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances if required by specific projects.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
