Job description

Senior Security Operations Analyst

The Senior Security Operations Analyst serves as a senior escalation point within the Security Operations Center (SOC), responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to complex cybersecurity threats and incidents across client environments. This role provides advanced security analysis, supports incident response, develops and maintains SOC detection use cases, and works with clients and internal teams to strengthen security operations and overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement

  • Collaborate with clients to understand security requirements, risks, and objectives.
  • Provide recommendations to strengthen security posture and align with industry best practices.
  • Communicate security findings, risks, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.

Security Operations & Incident Response

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for SOC analysts investigating security alerts and incidents.
  • Analyze suspicious activity, security events, and potential threats to determine risk and appropriate response.
  • Support incident containment, eradication, recovery, and root-cause analysis.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
  • Maintain incident response procedures and document post-incident findings and recommendations.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Support client compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
  • Prepare security reports highlighting key metrics, trends, incidents, and recommendations.
  • Support security audits, assessments, and client reviews.

Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, incident response, or a related field.
  • Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, firewalls, IDS/IPS, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Experience troubleshooting and investigating complex security events.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple issues, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, CySA+, or comparable credentials.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls, or other cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud security, threat hunting, vulnerability management, or security engineering.

Additional Considerations:

This position may require occasional work outside normal business hours to support security incidents, maintenance activities, or client requirements. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst is expected to maintain current knowledge of cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
