Candidate must have strong Power BI experience.

Three Must Haves:

- Power BI semantic models and reports

- Cloud Data Warehouse Experience

- SQL

Position Purpose

The BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and semantic models that support business decision-making. This role operates with a high degree of independence, owning end-to-end technical delivery of accurate and well-designed analytics solutions. The BI Developer works closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models and reporting solutions.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain semantic models, reports, and dashboards aligned with business requirements and data architecture.

• Build analytical models, reports and dashboards to present KPIs and business insights, ensuring usability and alignment with stakeholder needs.

• Utilize Git-integrated workflows within Microsoft Fabric that version control, CI/CD, and automated testing processes.

• Optimize report performance through advanced DAX, efficient data modeling, and best practices in report design.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, quality, and security standards across platforms in compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.

• Partner with analysts, developers, and business users to deliver reporting solutions. Contribute to and help enforce BI standards, naming conventions, and best practices.

• Maintain clear documentation for reports, dashboards, and measure definitions to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Key Competencies and Skills (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)

• Ownership: Independently delivers high-quality BI solutions and drives work from concept to production. Adhere to established architecture in regards to data modeling, report design, and performance optimization.

• Collaborates: Partners with analysts, developers, and business users to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions aligned to stakeholder needs.

• Resourcefulness: Applies best practices (including star schema model design, DAX optimization and report design techniques) and leverages Microsoft Fabric workflows to troubleshoot performance, maintainability, and delivery needs within defined standards.

• Instills Trust: Ensures confidence in analytics outputs by following data governance, quality, and security standards and maintaining clear documentation for dashboards, reports, and measure definitions.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Proficiency in SQL and DAX

• Effective communication and presentation skills to convey data insights effectively.

• Understanding of business processes and key performance metrics.

• Experience working with ERP and/or CRM systems; Salesforce preferred.

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment a plus.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business analytics, finance, accounting, or related business field.

• 3-5 years of experience in a BI or Data Analyst role, with a focus on cloud-based solutions, star schema data models, and reports.

• Experience building semantic models, reports and dashboards from the ground up using Microsoft Power BI.

• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (e.g. star schema data modeling)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
