You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and addiction specialists, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that prioritizes client-centered care.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Root Center, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Providing individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address the relational dynamics within families and couples, as well as treating substance use and mental health disorders.
• Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to understand patients' needs and progress, guiding the therapeutic process effectively.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, tailored to the unique situations of each client, including establishing measurable goals and regularly revisiting plans to ensure continued relevance.
• Engaging in crisis intervention when necessary, offering immediate support to clients in times of distress, and assessing their emotional and behavioral needs comprehensively.
• Collaborating with a team of clinical professionals to integrate care plans effectively, ensuring all aspects of patient needs are addressed holistically.

Your work will primarily involve individuals dealing with substance use issues along with underlying mental health conditions. This includes adults and families experiencing crises or persistent conflicts stemming from substance abuse or relational discord. Understanding developmental theories and lifecycle impacts on families will be instrumental in implementing therapeutic strategies tailored to diverse client backgrounds and experiences.

To be considered for this pivotal role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a relevant field.
• An active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Pennsylvania.
• At least three years of experience in clinical settings, particularly in treating substance use and mental health disorders.
• Demonstrated skills in conducting psychosocial assessments and implementing crisis intervention strategies.
• Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and connect clients with necessary community resources.

In addition to the required qualifications, we value candidates who have:

• Experience with telehealth practices to effectively provide remote therapy.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Theory.
