Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting initial assessments by performing comprehensive interviews to understand clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
  • Documenting case histories rigorously from the first consultation through treatment termination to ensure continuity of care.
  • Formulating tailored intervention and recovery plans that account for the diverse needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to foster healing and growth.
  • Consistently monitoring client progress throughout each phase of the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to enhance client outcomes.
  • Following up with clients admitted to hospitals and liaising with attending physicians to coordinate care and address any urgent needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population that includes individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, traumatic stress, and relationship challenges. Our clients often seek therapy as a means of navigating life transitions or coping with significant stressors. As a mental health counselor, your role will be critical in guiding them towards healthier mental states and improved quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
  • Successful completion of relevant examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Possess a valid and up-to-date understanding of industry standards and best practices in mental health counseling, including familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and other professionals.
