Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in the design and delivery of colocation and hyperscale data center facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems in large-scale data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience working with high-density data centers.
This position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.
Although the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our teams around the world on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, including medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems.
  • Responsible for electrical calculations and development of drawings in accordance to client specifications and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering with 6+ years of MEP design experience.
  • Experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
  • Experience working in Revit and ACC
  • Experience working in power system analysis such as SKM, or ETAP
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Building codes including IBC and IECC
  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with mission critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements.
  • Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
