Subject Matter Expert | Professional Practice: Voice + Vision
Salary: $3,000 per course built

Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design and write an online course titled "Professional Practice Survey: Voice + Vision," a studio course within Fine Arts. This course introduces students to careers in Fine Arts. Students will examine the nuanced life of an artist through guest speakers, field experiences, connections with professionals, and guided research, adapted for online delivery through recorded and virtual formats. Guest speakers include working artists, arts administrators, gallery directors, small business owners, and nonprofit leaders.
Students will also explore short- and long-term goal setting, portfolio development, documenting artworks, public speaking, applying to opportunities, and defining personal success in a creative field. Upon completion of this course, students will develop a sophomore portfolio for faculty review and create actionable steps toward their individual goals. RMCAD seeks an SME to design and write the course curriculum and ensure it is prepared for launch.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and fellow faculty members to develop an engaging and innovative course within a shared timeline
  • Design and write curriculum that mentors and supports students in their creative and technical endeavors, fostering an applied and experiential online learning environment
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of our Fine Arts program
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher
  • Experience in course design and development processes for online delivery
  • Proven track record of successful experiential and applied approaches to student learning
  • Experience or knowledge of fine arts education at the college level, and proficiency in using learning management systems and online teaching tools to support instruction
