Job description

Overview

CVP is seeking Medical Support Assistants to join our team in support of our Nation's Veterans at the Salt Lake City VA Health Care System (SLCHCS) in Salt Lake City, UT. These are full-time remote positions based in Wasatch County, Utah supporting both the Health Administration Service (HAS) and the Office of Community Care (OCC) departments. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts), excluding federal holidays. This role is primarily remote but may call for on-site training and support as needed.ย 

Asย anย Medical Support Assistant, you will coordinate care between VA and community providers, schedule appointments, and ensure Veterans receiveย timelyย andย appropriate care.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to successfully undergo aย Government-sponsored background investigation (NACI)ย 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalentย ย 
  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experienceย 
  • Oral and writtenย proficiencyย in Englishย ย 
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute (WPM)ย 
  • Basic computer skillsย required; dailyย proficiencyย with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)ย 
  • Basic medical terminology knowledgeย 
  • No health or physical disability restrictions that would interfere with the performance of assigned dutiesย 
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and exercise sound judgment with limited direct supervisionย ย 
  • Prior VA scheduling or medical support assistant experience preferredย 
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and Privacy Act requirements preferredย 

Shiftย 

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts), excluding federal holidaysย

  • Salt Lake City VA Health Care System (SLCHCS) at 500 S Foothill Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84148ย ย 
  • *This is a primarily remote position; must live within 50 miles of Salt Lake City VA Medical Center for on-site training andย support.*ย
