• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to understand clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic methods, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Facilitate therapy sessions for individuals, couples, groups, and families, providing a safe and supportive environment for open discussions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other counselors, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in workshops, training sessions, and staying informed about advancements in mental health research.

As a key member of our mental health team, you will be working with a diverse population that includes individuals and families facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. You will guide clients towards recovery and improved quality of life by offering empathy, support, and appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut is essential.
• A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience, preferably in a community mental health setting, is mandatory.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards governing counseling practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage a diverse clientele.
• A proven ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Proficiency in EMR software and technology necessary for documentation and client record management.

• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance abuse recovery.
• Demonstrated experience in providing culturally competent care.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral networks to support client needs.
