OnePACS is a cloud-based PACS platform supporting radiology groups, teleradiology providers, imaging centers, and healthcare organizations that depend on reliable, high-volume diagnostic imaging workflows. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on architecture, technical direction, hands-on engineering, mentorship, and modernization. The ideal candidate brings strong Java engineering experience, practical knowledge of medical imaging workflows, and the ability to lead complex technical work across legacy and modern systems. This role is not a people management position. Success is measured by technical impact, platform reliability, engineering quality, and the ability to help teams build scalable, maintainable systems

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership across the OnePACS platform and related imaging workflows.

  • Lead architecture and design discussions for scalability, reliability, security, interoperability, compliance, and maintainability.

  • Support modernization of legacy platform components while maintaining production stability.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, Implementation, and Support to improve platform reliability and operational readiness.

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues involving application behavior, DICOM workflows, HL7 interfaces, routing, configuration, and customer-specific scenarios.

  • Mentor engineers through technical design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.

  • Improve documentation, runbooks, diagnostics, and repeatable support patterns.

  • Help reduce technical risk by making critical system knowledge more durable, visible, and broadly shared.

  • Contribute to strategic product initiatives involving imaging workflow automation, reporting, AI integrations, DICOM router modernization, viewer modernization, and interoperability improvements.

  • Work within Agile/Scrum delivery practices to support predictable planning, execution, and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, relational databases, performance, scalability, and production reliability.

  • Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application code, configuration, infrastructure, data, and external integrations.

  • Ability to communicate technical risk, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
